Why another safety layer matters

Phone scammers use urgency and authority to keep people engaged. A timely warning and help from a trusted person can interrupt that pressure.

How Protect Loved Ones works

  1. Choose one to three trusted contacts and set warning times. A separate PIN protects these settings.
  2. Protection starts only during an active call with a number that is not in the phone's contacts. Calls with known contacts are not restricted.
  3. The phone owner is warned first. If the call continues, trusted contacts receive an SMS with the other party's number.
  4. A trusted person can step in by sending any SMS to the protected phone while the unknown call is active.
  5. When a critical safety event is detected, the current call ends and unknown incoming and outgoing calls are blocked until a current six-digit code from the trusted person authenticator or a backup code is entered.

An extra safeguard when a one-time code arrives

If a message resembling an OTP arrives during an active call with an unknown number, ProZvonki ends the call, alerts trusted contacts and locks unknown calls. The feature is available in current app versions from both Google Play and RuStore.

The app does not listen to the conversation. It does not read or retain SMS history: only a newly received message is checked during the protected call.

The unlock code is not sent in the safety SMS. That message contains an alert and the unknown caller number. To unlock calls, the trusted person opens their authenticator and provides the current six-digit code. A previously saved backup code can be used instead. The settings PIN cannot unlock calls.

  • it cannot recognise every scam or replace safe habits;
  • the SMS and OTP flow requires the app permissions requested during setup.

What the security terms mean

OTP — one-time password

A short verification code sent by a bank, store or service. Never read it out to a caller.

Settings PIN

A 4–8 digit code created by the phone owner. It protects settings but cannot unlock emergency call blocking.

Authenticator

An app on the trusted-person phone that generates a fresh six-digit code for unlocking.

Trusted person

Someone chosen in advance who receives alerts, can stop a risky call and can help unlock unknown calls.
